Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca
Welcome to Morocco! We'll meet you at Mohammed V International Airport or your Casablanca hotel. Depending on arrival time, visit the magnificent Hassan II Mosque β perched on a cliff over the Atlantic, it's the largest mosque in Africa. Stroll the Corniche, settle into your hotel, and enjoy your first Moroccan dinner. Overnight: Hotel in Casablanca
Day 2: Casablanca β Rabat β Chefchaouen
After breakfast, head north to Rabat, Morocco's elegant capital. Visit the Hassan Tower, the Mohammed V Mausoleum, and the Andalusian gardens of the Kasbah of the Udayas overlooking the Atlantic. Continue through the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen, the Blue Pearl. Evening free to explore the blue-washed medina. Overnight: Riad in Chefchaouen.
Day 3: Chefchaouen β Full Day
A full, relaxed day in Chefchaouen. Wander the blue alleyways at your own pace, photograph the famous staircases, browse artisan shops for woven blankets and pottery, hike to the Spanish Mosque for panoramic views, or simply sip mint tea in a mountain-view cafΓ©. Overnight: Riad in Chefchaouen
Day 4: Chefchaouen β Volubilis β Meknes β Fes
Descend from the Rif to Volubilis, the best-preserved Roman ruins in North Africa β intricate mosaics, triumphal arches, and olive presses dating to the 3rd century BC (UNESCO 1997). Continue to Meknes, the 17th-century imperial city: the grand Bab el-Mansour gate, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, and the royal granaries. Arrive in Fes by evening. Overnight: Riad in Fes
Day 5: Fes β Full Guided Tour
A full day exploring Fes el-Bali with a licensed local guide. This is the world's largest car-free urban area and a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1981. Visit the Royal Palace, the Chouara Tanneries (unchanged since medieval times), the Al Quaraouiyine University (the world's oldest), the Bou Inania Madrasa, and the Mellah (Jewish Quarter). Day 6: Fes β Ifrane β Midelt β Ziz Valley β Merzouga
Today the landscapes transform. Cross the Middle Atlas through Ifrane β Morocco's alpine-style town β and the cedar forests where Barbary macaques live. Stop in Midelt for lunch, then descend through the stunning Ziz Valley palm oasis. By late afternoon, the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi appear on the horizon. Drop your bags, mount your camel, and trek into the Sahara for sunset. Arrive at our family's luxury desert camp β traditional music, campfire, and a sky full of stars. Day 7: Merzouga β Sahara Sunrise β Todra Gorge β Dades Valley
Wake early for a Sahara sunrise over the dunes β an unforgettable moment. After a Berber breakfast at camp, return by camel or 4x4 to Merzouga. Drive west through the Todra Gorge β 300-meter canyon walls popular with climbers β and into the Dades Valley, known as the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs, with its dramatic rock formations. Day 8: Dades Valley β Ait Ben Haddou β Ouarzazate β High Atlas β Marrakech
Visit the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou β a fortified ksar that's starred in Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and Lawrence of Arabia. Continue to Ouarzazate, the Hollywood of Morocco, for a photo stop at the Taourirt Kasbah. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260m) with sweeping views. Day 9: Marrakech β Full Guided Tour
A full day with a local guide in the Red City. Explore the Koutoubia Mosque, the 16th-century Saadian Tombs, the stunning Bahia Palace, and the Ben Youssef Madrasa.
